Fleet Expansion completed
Due to the increasing demand of pilot training and our demand forecast for the upcoming years, Horizon SFA has started talks with Diamond Aircraft (Wiener Neustadt, Austria) regarding a planned fleet expansion early summer 2018. In December 2018 Horizon Swiss Flight Academy and Diamond Aircraft finalized a deal and agreed on the terms for the delivery of two new Diamond DA42-VI multi-engine aircraft and one FNPTII simulator of the same type.
The first aircraft has sucessfully been ferried in April 2019 and has already accumulated more than 150 flight hours. On June 26th the ferryflight of the sister aircraft (HB-LVC) has taken place with a media representative on board. Difference training for all instructors and student pilots will be finished in the upcoming weeks. Once the operation is running smoothly HB-LVB will be based in Bern, while HB-LVC will remain in Zürich-Kloten airport.
